One hour gunfight with suspect; now in custody

WATERTOWN, Mass. (AP) - Police say the 19-year-old suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings exchanged gunfire with law enforcement for an hour while holed up in a parked boat before being captured.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was hospitalized late Friday in serious condition. His brother, 26-year-old Tamerlan, was killed early Friday while attempting to escape.

The two are suspected of killing three people on Monday and a campus police officer late Thursday.

Authorities in Boston had suspended all mass transit and warned close to 1 million people in the entire city and some of its suburbs to stay indoors as the hunt for the remaining suspect went on.
