Sentencing set in Mayetta fatal shooting

A sentencing date is set for one of the people charged in the fatal shooting of a Mayetta man.

Desiree Shoptease pleaded guilty Wednesday to a reduced charge of aiding a felon, at her preliminary hearing in a Jackson County courtroom.

Shoptease was being charged with second degree murder in the death of Kevin Stanley.

Sentencing is now set for May 24th.

The hearing for two other defendants, Steven Eastman and Lloyd Wabaunsee were moved to June..

Wabaunsee is charged with second degree murder.

Eastman is accused of driving Wabaunsee to and from Stanley’s home on the day of the murder, and charged with aiding second degree murder, and aiding a felon.
