Lockhart sentenced for home invasion

A Topeka man will serve nearly ten years in prison for a 2011 home invasion.

A Shawnee County judge sentenced Monroe Lockhart III, Tuesday to five-and-a-half years for aggravated battery tied to the burning of the victim.

And then 2 years and 8 months for breaking into a mobile home at 1919 SE Adams where the assault occurred.

He will also serve a year and a half for aggravated intimidation of a witness.

Last month Lockhart was found guilty on those charges.

All three sentences are to run consecutively.
