An art installation has turned up-cycled bikes into pinwheels of sorts.
A design class at Washburn University set up the display along the south side of Washburn’s campus between Mulvane and Jewell.
The installation consists of bicycle parts donated by the Topeka Community Cycle Project and area businesses.
It’s designed to raise awareness of bike safety and to encourage more cyclists in the city.
There will be a reception for the installation on Friday, as part of the First Friday Art Walk, on the west side of the art building on campus, weather permitting.
