You would think it’s winter by the looks of it outside.
But for the third time in Topeka’s recorded history snow is falling in May.
Topeka Resident, William Craft says was hoping to make it to this weekends festivities.
“Well if it’s snowing like this ill be staying at home”
But because of the very unusual snowfall that we’ve seen going on here in Topeka, there’s been a change of plans on some of the events going on here downtown.
In fact, many events like the Salsa-Fest, the Downtown First Friday Concert Series and March of Dimes – “March for Babies have been changed.
Some say it makes things difficult.
” Everyone is still trying to go forward with their events or postponing to another date. So May 11th is going to be a huge weekend across the city because you will have the ones that are postpones from this saturday to May 11th but that will be on top of other events,” says Edie Smith of Downtown Topeka Inc.
Craft says ” Hopefully it clears up by this weekend so we can get out and enjoy those festivities going on.”
A cold and wet weekend ahead for Topeka.
