Now that the weather is warming up… Topeka maintenance crews are patrolling the streets filling in the gaps.

Cold weather left behind damage.. like potholes.

Now, the city is  working day and night –  mending the streets with hot asphalt mix – something only available when the weather is warm.

Potholes are put on a schedule of importance depending on the size of it. – the most dangerous ones get fixed first.

Topeka Street Maintenance and Traffic Operations says they’re off to a good start on the repairs.

Compared to the mix used to patch the streets in the winter…hot mix asphalt is better quality for the roads.

On any given day… nearly 2 – 3 crews are out using this mixture on the streets.

If you need to report a pothole – call the city call center at 368- 3111.
