Job market looks better this month

Unemployment claims fells last week by 23,000.

Initial claims are considered the first key measure of the job market and they’re closely correlated with layoffs recently the numbers have been hovering around 5 year lows, which is a sign of fewer employers cutting their payrolls.

Typically economist prefer to look at a 4 week average and that number also fell last week.
