Some legislators have said they don’t want the overtime pay as lawmakers work beyond the 90-day session time frame.
Each extra day is expected to cost Kansans $45,000. Last year, the session went 9 extra days. Five of the 40 senators and 17 of the 125 representatives declined their legislative salary past day 90, which was Thursday.
The session has ran long in 32 of last 40 years.
