WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Wichita police say a 59-year-old man is claiming he shot and killed his twin brother in self-defense.
The shooting occurred Wednesday night at the west Wichita home where the brothers lived.
Capt. Brent Allred identified the man who died as 59-year-old Robert Lea.
Police say a man called 911 and said he had shot his brother in self-defense after Robert Lea pointed a gun at him. The men lived alone at the house.
Allred says police are investigating the self-defense claim but the brother was booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.
Allred said the brothers had been arguing for several days about issues such as food and animals in the house. He says police responded to domestic disputes at the home in 2006 and 2009.
