Police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a Topeka hotel. It happened at about 8:20 Sunday night at the Holiday Inn Express in the 900 block of SW Robinson.
Topeka Police said the suspect went inside the hotel and stood in the lobby for about 20 minutes saying he was waiting on his fiancée. He then walked up to the counter, held out his ball cap and told the clerk to put the money in his cap or he would shoot her. He did not show a gun. Police say the clerk did comply with the suspect. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
He is described as a white male, in his 40s, balding with gray hair. He’s about 5’9″ and 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light colored polo shirt, blue jeans and wore glasses on top of his forehead during the robbery.
The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information, you’re asked to contact detectives at 368-9400 or Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
