The fate of an 1890’s era church in east Topeka is still unknown… and the wait continues.
Tuesday night the Topeka City C ouncil had planned to review a request to demolish the old church. It comes after nearly two months of debate.
But three hours before the meeting, the Kansas East Conference United Methodist Church decided to withdraw their demolition request.
The church says it’s because it wants to look at other options.
The building has had many structural problems like mold in the foundation and walls crumbling.
