Early morning car chase lands two people in jail

At about 12:30 Thursday morning  Topeka police tried to stop a Suburban at 6th and Harrison  when the driver allegedly fled the scene.

Officers say the driver of a white 2002 Suburban continued on to I-70 west and then north on highway 75.

TPD called in Shawnee County deputies as the SUV left the city limits.

Officers say the Suburban led deputies and a Topeka police k-9 unit  into Jackson County where  Jackson county deputies and Tribal Police joined in the pursuit.

Authorities stopped the suspect vehicle at 150th and north  75 highway.

Officers say the suburban was  reported stolen  out of Lawrence.
The driver 42 year old John Holt was arrested for auto theft and felony fleeing and eluding.
The passenger  31 year old Amanda Keaton was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
