A motorcycle driver is alive after spending nearly nine hours stuck in a ditch Saturday night.

Sunday morning at around 6:40 a.m. Shawnee County officials found the man at the U.S. 24 and 75 interchange. They say around 10 p.m. Saturday 66-year-old Ray Farmer was heading westbound on 24 and left the roadway near that exit ramp.

That’s when he entered the grassy median, struck a cement pipe and went airborne.

Sunday morning a passing driver spotted him, he’s in serious but stable condition.
