Traffic will stay open in a controversial road project in the southwest part of Topeka.
At an open house Monday afternoon the city gave residents and business owners an update for a proposed gage construction project.
The project for SW Gage Blvd from 33rd St. to 45th St. was to have started in March, but businesses in the area filed in injunction claiming the project would adversely affect their revenue.
The city’s solution is to keep through traffic open and the construction only is from 32nd to 37th on Gage.
Drivers will not be able to access Gage from 37th.
