About 10pm Sunday night, officers were dispatched to a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a bicycle in the 2000 block of NW Tyler. Officers found the bicyclist, a Topeka man in his 60’s, suffering from injuries considered life threatening. The motorcyclist, a Topeka man in his 50’s, also suffered injuries; however, his weren’t life threatening. While the investigation is still ongoing, it’s believed that both the bicycle and motorcycle were travelling south on NW Tyler when the collision occurred.
The bicyclist was transported by AMR to a local hospital where he remains undergoing treatment. The motorcyclist went by personal vehicle to a local hospital where he was treated and released.
The Topeka Police Accident Reconstruction Team is currently investigating this collision. Anyone with information is asked to call SGT Kelvin Johnson at 368-9551, or Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
