A local Boy Scout’s project to get his Eagle badge will help a local pet shelter.

A donation drive for the Helping Hands Humane Society is being spear-headed by Nick Habig, a Boy Scout with troop 18 in Tecumseh.

He’s looking for a variety of items, including toys, dish soap, office supplies and flea or tick treatments.

Nick said the adoption of his dog chase recently made him want to give back to the shelter.

The fundraiser is this Saturday, from 11:30am to 6:00pm at the Helping Hands Humane Society at 21st and Belle.
