On Tuesday July 9, 2013 and Wednesday July 10, 2013 Kansas First News reported on Kansas Highways and the possibility of toll fees rising in the future.

We want to clarify that there is no talk of rising toll rates on the Kansas Turnpike itself.

As traditional funding sources decline, the Kansas Department of Transportation has studied and will continue to have discussions about tolling new lanes on existing roads or use tolls to help construct and maintain new highways.

At this time, this is only a discussion and there are no plans to toll new roads.
