An army veteran has a new car thanks to a not for profit organization.

Car 4 Heroes presented Blake Woods with the keys to a reliable car today at the country Mart in Holton.

Blake served seven years with the U.S. Army and had two tours of duty in Afghanistan before being discharged.

His family currently has one vehicle but it has mechanical problems and they are at risk of losing it due to the payments being higher than they can afford.

But in order to continue to work hey needs reliable transportation, which this new car will provide.

Blake also says that his four daughters have health issues, and the second car will help make sure they get to their appointments.

“It was a relief because we really needed it, said Woods.  It came at the perfect time and it couldn’t be at a better time really it was a huge weight off our shoulders.  It’s stress relieving, a miracle really, honestly something we really needed.”

Cars 4 Heroes currently gives away 300 cars a year nation wide.  They take in donated vehicles and repair them to make sure they are mechanically sound and give them away to struggling veterans.
