Stolen vehicle in Manhattan is found burned in Jackson County

At approximately 6:10 a.m. the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle smoldering on 278th Road, west of T. Road in northern Jackson County.

The vehicle was located approximately two miles east of U.S. 75.  The vehicle was completely burned upon arrival.

Deputies traced the owner of the vehicle back to a Manhattan address.  The owner of the vehicle reported the vehicle stolen later in the morning to Riley County Police.  The vehicle was a gold colored 2005 Dodge Durango.
