Ellis county emergency management says it happened at about one fifteen Tuesday morning… forty cars jumped off of their tracks causing the derailment.

About half of the cars were carrying general freight and the other half were carrying ethanol.

The Ellis County emergency management’s office says the fire is most likely from the diesel in the train and not the ethanol.

Officials say residents of a mobile home park evacutaed to a nearby church as a precaution.

Emergency officials are blocking off a nine hundred foot  zone.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
