Two men are still in the hospital this morning after a home invasion and shooting late Tuesday night.
It happened just before 11 p.m. at the Oakbrook Terrace Apartments on SW Twilight Court.
Lieutenant Joe Perry says there were other people in Apartment 12 when the shooting happened.
Police say 21 year old Anthony Mioni suffered life threatening gunshot wounds.
Officers do not know his current condition, but say he is still alive.
According to police, a citizen’s tip led officers to a house on SE 25th.
Police arrested 21 year old Devantair Jackson and 18 year old Daquhan Jackson for aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary.
Devantair is also charged with aggravated battery. Lieutenant Perry says Devantair Jackson tried to run away. A helicopter spotted Devantair soon after.
“The Kansas Highway Patrol helicopter happened to be up assisting us trying to find a missing person they diverted came over and were able to find the suspect using their flare and the officers took him into custody,” says Perry.
Kelley Fitzgibbon lives in the building where the shooting happened but says she didn’t hear the shooting. She says she’s now scared for her safety in her own home.
Police say Devantair Jackson had a non-life threatening gunshot wound that police say happened before they found him.
Lt. Perry says the investigation is ongoing.
