Residents in southeast Topeka are letting the world’s largest retailer hear what they think about plans to build a Walmart in their neighborhood.
It would become the fourth Walmart in the Topeka area.
A public meeting was held at Highland Park High School Wednesday evening. Walmart representatives and developers opened the floor for people in the community that might have questions or concerns about the possible superstore.
It would be built in a largely-residential area.
Walmart says it’s a great location.
The Walmart spokesman says another public hearing will take place at the planning commission on Monday, August 19th at 6 p-m.
From there.. the planning commission will review the and make a recommendation on the development.
