A man is dead following a train accident in Topeka Sunday evening. Topeka police officers responded to the railroad crossing near Kansas Ave. and Norris after a Union Pacific train hit the man who was trying to cross the tracks.
Topeka Rescue Mission director Barry Feaker to the Topeka Capital Journal he believes the man in his 50′s, didn’t hear the train coming because he was deaf. Police were treating the incident as an accident.
