Day two, of the Bill Self Basketball ProCamp featured yet another appearance from a former Jayhawk. All-American Thomas Robinson.

One day one, Ben McLemore impressed the campers, ages seven to 18, on offense with his long-range shooting, nifty dribbling, and no-look passes. Robinson, on the other hand, did what he did so many times during his career at Kansas. He taught the kids a thing or two about post-play.  Head coach Bill Self is glad to welcome him and more than 200 local kids to the camp.

“It’s a good camp,” Self said.  “It’s the first time we’ve done this, and I anticipate us doing it more in the future.  It’s great to have Thomas and Ben come back, and they’re having a good time. These guys love coming back. They look for an excuse all the time.”

Robinson was selected 5th overall in the 2012 NBA Draft. He’s now a member of the Portland Trailblazers and he game has plenty of room for improvement.

“I need to be smarter as a player,” Robinson said. “Those guys are talented and they’re smart. I got a lot smarter over the year. With summer league, I led it in rebounding, so if one thing describes me, it’s rebounding.”
