Jeff West Tigers football preview

Jeff West finished (5-5) last season as the Tigers faced off against a difficult schedule in the Big 7 League.

“The biggest strength for us is that we’re versatile,” Jeff West head coach Steve Johnson said. “I think we’re a better running team this year than we have been in the past. And there’s no question passing wise that we should be solid because we return all of our receivers, running backs, and quarterback. ”

The Tigers made it to the Class 4A playoffs for the first time since 2009. Despite a first-round loss to Kansas City Piper, Jeff West returns with a lot of momentum and optimism.

“We’ve got a big senior class, so everything we work for is going to be good,” Jeff West senior wide receiver Bret Ricklefs said. “We’re just trying to push each other and stay focused, especially towards freshman.”

An odd thing about Jeff West was that the Tigers went undefeated at home last season, but also lost every road contest.

“Just making sure we’re working hard out here,” Jeff West senior quarterback Ian Mullins said. “Coaches work us hard, and make sure we stay motivated and keep working hard in practice.”

Jeff West begins the season at Sabetha.
