Just in time for this surge of hot weather, a new garden at Lake Shawnee is complete.
Shawnee County Parks and Recreation officials cut a ribbon on the new Garden Pagoda at Ted Ensley Gardens on the west side of the lake.
The idea for the Pagoda began nearly ten years ago when Parks and Rec. Horticulturalist, Dave Bartels sketched a design.
The Pagoda boasts a great view of the lake, it will hold about 80 people.
The new structure marks the final phase of the meditation garden.
