The Kansas First News studios got a giant visitor Monday.

A big yellow duck was in our lawn helping us promote the 18th Annual Great Topeka Duck Race that will be held on September 7th at Lake Shawnee.

Approximately 12,000 “adopted” rubber ducks will be dropped into the lake in the cove south of the swim beach for a race to the finish line.

Ducks can be adopted for a $5 donation. Funds from the race benefit the programs of Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Topeka and the Sertoma Clubs of Topeka.
