If you’re planning to go out to dinner this week, there’s one less restaurant in town after 45 years of operation.
According to the Topeka-Capital Journal the Topeka Steak House at 526 Southeast DuPont Road has closed.
According to the paper, owner Maurice Hochard, who took over the restaurant about 20 years ago, wouldn’t discuss specifics about his decision to close but he said he didn’t want to sacrifice the quality of service.
The steak house has been open since 1968, though the building has been there before as Topeka Gun Club.
