Washburn prepares for home matchup against Fort Hays State

Washburn opened the season with an impressive victory at Fort Hays State. Now the Ichabods look for another repeat performance to begin the home campaign.

“It’s perfect,” Washburn head coach Craig Schurig said. “Seven turnovers you don’t get that very often so that’s big and that’s why we put up so many points on the board. Really good effort in all three phases on the road so we were pleased on how that went.”

The Ichabods face Fort Hays State, a team that fell in its home opener against Emporia State.

“When you start off on the road that first home game feels like the opener because of the excitement and everything at home,” Schurig said. “So we’re excited about it.”

Kickoff is at 6 PM at Yager Stadium.
