Metropolitan Topeka Airport Authority (MTAA) announced today that Topeka travelers who have booked certain United Airlines tickets for travel into and out of Kansas City International Airport may qualify to change those tickets for use on new United Express service from Topeka Regional Airport. United recently announced new nonstop service between Topeka and Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The airline is offering customers currently ticketed on United flights to/from Kansas City the opportunity to streamline existing travel plans and instead re-book to/from
Topeka, with the change fee waived. This opportunity involves the following re-booking conditions:
Applies to tickets issued on or before September 9, 2013;
Must retain original travel dates and class of service.
“We are aware that some Topeka-area travelers made plans to travel from Kansas City before we announced our new Topeka service,” said Martin Kammerman, senior manager of network planning for United, “We’re pleased to offer this convenient option to customers who may wish to change their plans in order to fly directly from Topeka on our new United Express service.”
United begins twice-daily United Express regional jet service between Topeka and the airline’s Chicago O’Hare hub on January 7. The service will be operated by ExpressJet, with easy connecting flights available to more than 90 cities around the world.
