Helping Hands Humane Society will host the third installment in their Paws for a Cause Seminar Series on Monday September 30, 2013. Dr. KuKanich’s research interests include bacterial sharing between companion animals and their owners, the epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance, hospital acquired infections, and hand washing. Dr. KuKanich is an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Internal Medicine at K-State’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Her clinical interests are infectious disease, respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases, and managing urinary tract infections. She is also interested in zoonotic diseases and public health.

The Paws for a Cause Seminar Series was launched by Helping Hands Humane Society earlier this year in May as a way to provide free educational seminars to the public. The seminars compliment a part of the HHHS mission statement which states, “Serving the community through education and addressing animal welfare issues.” Helping Hands Humane Society brings in national and regionally recognized experts to be guest presenters.
