She quickly became one of the most recognized faces and names in America..Miss Kansas 2013 Theresa Vail.
Kansas First News anchor Jared Broyles spoke with her via skype about her experience.
Vail said that although the taboo of tattoos at the pageant took center stage…it really wasn’t about breaking the tradition.
For Vail, it was about being true to who she is.
Since the competition, vail has endured a whirlwind of media appearances but still managed to speak at a few schools.
She has addressed students on bullying since telling her own story at Miss America.
We asked her about her future plans.
“I’m leaving it all up to God. Right now my plan is to go to dental school, become a dentist for the Army everybody knows that, but if he has a bigger and better plan for me, I will follow it,” Vail said.
