Driver leads deputy on chase in Topeka

A man is on the loose after leading a deputy on a short car chase.

Shortly after 5:00pm Tuesday,  a deputy tried to stop a car for a traffic stop at southwest 21st and Western Avenue.

The driver of the1995 green Plymouth Neon didn’t stop and led the deputy in a chase that lasted seven minutes.

The chase ended in the back yard of a home at 3379 southwest Brendan.

The driver then got out of the car and ran.

He’s described as a white man wearing a red shirt and dark colored shorts.

The sheriff’s office asks that if you have any information to call 368-2200.
