Prairie fire exhibit at Alice Sabatini Gallery

Kansas is burning at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library.

Prairie fires are the focus of a new art exhibit at the Alice Sabatini Gallery.

It features photos of spring time when ranchers and prairie managers burn parts of the Flint Hills to control weeds, invasive species and keep grasses healthy.

The exhibit aims to give a broader understanding of prairie fires and how the burning has a different impact on the environment.

It runs through March 30, 2014.
