Kansas Department of Transportation snow plow crews are prepared for this weekend’s winter storm.
KDOT Public Affairs Manager Kim Qualls tells Kansas First News 27 crews will be tackling 1037 lane miles in Shawnee, Jefferson and Jackson Counties. Crews are on standby to monitor the weather and will hit the roads when it starts to accumulate. They will be working 12-hour shifts. Qualls says it looks to be a major plowing event.
Qualls wants to remind drivers to keep a safe distance from the trucks.
