RCPD 101 promises “down and dirty look” at department

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Beginning on March 25, 2014, the Riley County Police Department will start its spring session of the Citizen Police Academy. RCPD 101 is a condensed version of the normal Fall Citizen Academy and offers a down and dirty look at RCPD, in an entertaining and hands on way. Applications are being accepted until March 20th at 1:00 PM.

Participants will be required to pass a simple background check and will be asked to attend 6 total sessions on topics ranging from the Emergency Response Unit Tactical Team to Patrol and Drug Investigations as well as Crime Scene Investigation.

Most classes will be held at the Riley County Police Department; however reliable transportation to the RCPD Range Facility may be required. Classes will run once per week (Tuesday) and last no more than 3 hours (from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM) ending on April 29, 2014.
