Date set to hear comments concerning wages

County Comm

A date has been set to hear public comments concerning wages for Shawnee County workers represented by the “Teamsters Union.”

Commissioners scheduled the hearing date for March 31st. The County and teamsters are at an im-pass regarding pay for some 470 employees from public works, corrections and four other groups working under a three year agreement.

The county offered a one year contract with no pay hike but the union sought increases based on years of services and pay scale position.
