Lyon County Fire Officials are still putting out hot spots after a near 5,000 acre grass fire.

At about 2 p.m. Thursday, nearly a dozen fire districts from surrounding counties responded to road 200 and Road Y outside Reading.

A hay barn was lost in the fire and the Reading Town Fire Truck sustained fire damage after getting stuck in the field.

One firefighter suffered minor burns to his hands after trying to put the truck fire out. He refused medical treatment and continued to work.

Lyon County Officials says the damage is still being assessed.
