MAJ. GEN. PAUL E. FUNK II SAYS, “this asset…this post..is their post..this is their army..this is your army..”

TO KEEP FORT RILEY THE BEST THERE’S A NEW GOAL FOR THE FUTURE: “CAMPAIGN PLAN 2020.”

THE PLAN HAS ALREADY BEEN IN ACTION.
IT KICKED OFF WEDNESDAY WITH THE OFFICIAL OPENING THIS SEXUAL ASSAULT RESPONSE AND PREVENTION CENTER.

OTHER ITEMS ON THE LIST: OPENING THE NEW FORT RILEY HOSPITAL IN 2015 INCREASING TRAINING AND ATTRACTING CIVILIAN NURSES AND DOCTORS TO WORK AT THE POST.

CAMPAIGN PLAN 2020 ALSO INCLUDES BUYING MORE LAND TO USE AS A CONSERVATION BUFFER FOR SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES.

BUT A SACRIFICE NEEDED IN THIS MOVE TOWARD THE FUTURE…IS THE CUTTING OF TROOPS.

“We will lose one brigade here but of that we will actually grow the other two brigades that allow us to get to 1,200 to 1,700 impact here at Fort Riley.”
SIX YEARS DOWN THE ROAD BUT THAT’S A GLIMPSE OF WHAT’S TO COME.
