TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – A Topeka middle school was locked down for a short time Tuesday morning.
USD 501 spokesperson Ron Harbaugh confirmed a Facebook posted by Robinson Middle School Principal Tammy Hazelton that reported the school was locked down for about 10 minutes after someone said a student brought a gun to school. The student was located, and the gun turned in.
Harbaugh tells Kansas First News it was a BB gun with no BB’s.
Appropriate measures are being taken for the student involved in Tuesday morning’s incident.
