June 5, 2014 marks the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit the Special Olympics of Kansas and approximately 15 members of the Riley County Police Department are participating.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. officers and employees with the Riley County Police Department will embark on a run of more than 11 miles across Manhattan and Riley County. The run will begin at the Pottawatomie County/Riley County line in east Manhattan near Sherwin Williams and will end at the Ogden Gates of Fort Riley.
A map of the route through Riley County has been published to the department’s website.

Employees of RCPD also participate in the annual “Polar Plunge” held at the Tuttle Creek State Park.
