Bond set for Topeka man suspected of killing over the weekend

A one million dollar cash bond was set for a 24 year old man who was arrested over the weekend for the killing of a 20 year old man.

A Shawnee County District Court judge set the bond today for 24-year-old Jourdan M. Hunt of Topeka

He is in Shawnee County Jail in connection with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery.

Hunt was arrested in Lawrence Sunday after police found the red SUV they were searching for.

20-year-old Germaul Rayton was shot at the Freedom Valley Park in Topeka on Saturday.

Hunt’s next court appearance will be in about two weeks when a preliminary hearing will likely be scheduled.
