The Topeka Rescue Mission announces a 12 million dollar expansion

Millions of dollars have been given by anonymous donors for the expansion of the Topeka Rescue Mission.

It was announced Friday that the rescue mission is building a new Life Center nearly doubling the amount of beds from 286 to over 400 beds for individuals and families
Also, there will be a new Children’s Palace used for day care and education as well as new Youth Center in the future.
The project is expected to cost nearly 12 million dollars, 3 million of that has already been donated anonymously.

“It’s an opportunity for us and the community to take our services to the whole to the homeless and those hungry and poor to the next level.” Said Feaker. “This is a faith ministry reaching out to god saying, god give us what we need to have and to be able to take our gifts and share with those and bring people hope not only for a meal but for the rest of their lives.”Said Feaker.

Feaker says, it’s a 4 step process that is expected to begin at the end of the year.
Those constructing the expansions say it could take up to 4 or 5 years to finish the project.
