The Topeka City Manager will be asking for input from residents on what they expect from the next police chief.
A public meeting will be held Monday, June 9, so residents can express their priorities for the Topeka Police Chief position. The meeting will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Holliday Conference Room at 620 SE Madison.
At the meeting, Topeka City Manager, Jim Colson, will update the public on the search process and timeline of the position. In March, President Barack Obama nominated current Topeka Police Chief, Ron Miller to serve as U.S. Marshal for Kansas. Miller was sworn in as Chief of the Topeka Police Department in September 2006.
Anyone who cannot attend this meeting can participate in a public engagement poll to be released online. Those not able to participate can call the City Manager’s Office with comments, (785) 368-3725.
