One arrested in connection to Friday’s shooting

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) The Watch Commander with the Topeka Police Department has confirmed Sunday that someone has been arrested in connection to a shooting on Friday afternoon. Police are not releasing a name of the suspect.

Topeka Police responded to a call of a shooting at about 2:40 Friday afternoon at 2129 SE Kentucky.

When police arrived, they found a male subject outside of the address with gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment and was pronounced dead at about 3:40 p.m.

Police say a vehicle stopped in front of the home and fired several shots. Neighbors say the victim was a black male, maybe late twenties. The name of the victim is being withheld at this time pending proper notifications.

Witnesses did see a Silver Dodge Magnum station wagon with tinted windows leaving the scene of the shooting. Police still haven’t determined if the victim was targeted. If anyone has information in regards to a vehicle matching this description they are asked to call 911 and report it to the police.
