Man found with unexploded WWII shell

An unexploded military shell was discovered at a man’s home north of Topeka. The owner of the home near northwest 25th and Menoken had been given a world war two shell as a memento by a friend and was using it as a door stop.

Someone saw the shell, and called police who in turn called an ordinance detail in from Fort Riley. The shell was taken away, no word on whether any charges will be filed in the incident.
