Topeka Man Convicted of 2012 Murder

Topeka, Kan. (KSNT) – A 25 year old Topeka man was convicted Monday of  the 1st Degree Premeditated Murder of 43-year old Oma “Shannon” Bennett in 2012.

Shawnee County district Attorney Chad Taylor says the guilty verdict against Troy Allen Robinson came after a six-day jury trial.

Bennett was stabbed to death in her apartment near SE 21st and Adams the night of December 19th, 2012.

Police say shortly after the stabbing, Robinson told his mother he had stabbed a woman in an apartment complex, she then called police who found Bennett’s body in her apartment.

Sentencing has been scheduled for  July 28th.
