SHAWNEE COUNTY (KSNT) – The Kansas Department of Transportation says that as of 3 p.m. Monday, eastbound and westbound U.S. 24 from Countryside Road to just east of Menoken Road is now traveling head to head on the newly completed westbound lanes.
Crews will continue paving work on the new eastbound mainline lanes and overlay work on the new eastbound bridges. Crews will also begin demolition work on the old U.S. 24 bridge and shoofly detour.
Traffic will be directed through the project work zone via signage and cones. There will be a 50 mph posted speed limit and a 12-foot width restriction through the project work zone throughout the project duration.
