Petition to have public vote on city proposal

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The man who is leading a charge to have the public vote on a city proposal to acquire Heartland Park continues his effort to gather signatures for a petition.

Chris Imming began a drive last Friday night to organize people who could help to gather the needed signatures for the petition, about 2,100 names are needed for the petition to be recognized.

As of Tuesday night, Imming said he has gathered more than 350 names on the first weekend at several locations in Topeka..

His group plans to collect more signatures at the Farmers Market Saturday morning and at other locations in Topeka on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
