Nate was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and raised in Overland Park, Kansas.He has been with Channel 27 since 1996. He began his career in 1996 as an intern for KSNT, continuing as a sports reporter in May 1997.   Following two years as the station’s weekend sports anchor, Natewas named Sports Director in July 1999.

In January 2001, Nate became a KSNT News Anchor. Nate graduated from the University of Kansas, where he anchored the news for KUJH and did radio play-by-play for KU football, basketball and baseball games.   At KU, Nate lettered in track for four years and remains an avid runner.   He prefers to walk when playing golf. He says his passion for broadcasting was instilled early by his father, John Mungan, who was a newscaster in Dubuque, Iowa.

Nate is involved in various community events.  He also serves on the NE Kansas Junior Achievement Board of Directors. When Nate is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Erica, and two children, Madelyn and Kaden.
